I put $300,000.00 in a lump some from a life insurance policy benefit I received, into a fixed annuity 8 years ago. Now that I know it's not insured, I'm scared and i'm a disabled widow, but not 59 1/2. I was told the government will penalize me 10% if I remvoe it before 59 1/2. Is that true? I also will be penalized about $8,000.00 by the company holding the annuity for this early withdrawal. I'm just concerned the government will penalize me another $30,000.00 and need an answer to this before I pull out the money. I'm scared to take it out and scared to leave it in.
