1 dead in crash on Chicago Skyway

The crash happened about 12:15 a.m. in its northbound lanes at East 79th Street.

The victim died on the scene after his 2001 Buick LeSabre hit the rear of the truck, according to Chicago police.  No one else was hurt.

Officials were withholding the victim's identity pending notification of relatives.

A portion of the Skyway around the crash site was closed after the incident, but has since reopened.
