Bail was set Tuesday at $350,000 for an Elgin teenager accused of molesting a 6-year-old boy, authorities said.

Martin Alvarado, 15, of the 1200 block of Spruce Lane was charged Monday with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault.

At a bail hearing in the Rolling Meadows branch of Cook County Circuit Court, Judge Kay Hanlon ordered an overnight curfew for Alvarado, a sophomore at Elgin High School, and prohibited him from having any contact with the alleged victim.

The charges are Class X felonies, and state law mandated that Alvarado be charged as an adult rather than as a juvenile, said Scott Biestek, an assistant state's attorney.

The victim was allegedly assaulted twice between May 15 and June 15 in Elgin, authorities said. The child reported the alleged assaults to his mother, who contacted authorities.
