Police on Tuesday said a Riverdale man faces charges after smashing a bottle over the head of a liquor store owner during a robbery in Glenview.
Police said Christopher Jones, 19, of the 13000 block of South Langley Drive in Riverdale hit the owner of Glenbrook Liquors, 3554 Milwaukee Ave., with a liquor bottle on Sept. 7 when the owner tried to stop Jones from stealing two bottles of alcohol from the store.
The owner was not seriously injured. Jones ran, but was arrested several days later.
