Cook County Board President Todd Stroger has declared a state of emergency in all of Cook County, including the city of Chicago. Stroger has scheduled a 4 p.m. news conference in Des Plaines, which has been hit hard by flooding.
please advice, what about the rosemont area, i work thre and my neighberhood is closed i ned to know what is happening in rosemont area around 10255 w higgins rd .can i drvice in that area?
thank you
The State of Emergency began when Cook County displayed it's ever present stupidity and elected the man.
Chicago is the best.
1. Highest taxed citizenry in the country
2. 50% of Chicago's High School Students do NOT graduate
3. Zero government transparency
4. Crime cameras should be in the City and County Offices not the streets
5. More federal investigations and convictions than any other body of elected officials than any other city
6. Nepotism (enough said)
7. 80,000 people moved OUT of Chicago during last census period
8. Zero accountability for govt. department failures
9. Massive budget deficits and sale of public assets
10. Wait till they report next year's pension fund deficits. You haven't seen nothing yet.
It's almost 430, and the news conference hasn't started. Stroger is late, again. Pathetic. We'd get fired for this, he gets a job for his cousin. That's not fair. Can we recall him?
chicagoans are awesome! why are you guys electing these people? i just moved here from california and i thought politics there was corrupt. nothing compared to this place. its a great city - lets get these people out!
Its confusing Todd was elected- beating Peraica in Nov of 2007
Todd was placed on the ballot when his father was ill. John Stroger won the democratic Primary beating Forrest Claypool, and due to his illness Todd got the spot on the ballot
Its absurd how he got the ballot but the uneducated voters elected him

Yeah, he's gonna raise the county tax again to pay for disaster relief!
Great to see President Stroger holding a news conference for Cook County residents of this rain.

Wayne - Just to clarify, we didn't elect Todd Stroger! He was appointed by his father. This is not a joke. This is seriously what happened!
Did emil jones' son join Todd in the press conference?
