The New Vista Theater is having a competition at noon Nov. 8 at Gatsby’s, 5970 SW 18th St., and the winner will appear in their first production of the 2008-09 season. The competition is open to anyone ages 16 to 22, and contestants will perform a two- minute audition piece. The winner will appear in “Enter Laughing,” the musical comedy based on Carl Reiner’s semi-autobiography. The entrance fee for contestants and guests is $10, which will be a tax-deductible donation benefiting Boca Raton-based charity People Reaching Out to People.
