Pope John Paul to have inaugural alumni game Nov. 29

Pope John Paul II High School, 4001 N. Military Trail, has become a pipeline to some of the most successful collegiate lacrosse programs, and the school is having its inaugural alumni game Nov. 29. Boca resident Michael Weppner helped organize the game and said the program’s success is a direct reflection of the coach.
“Coach [Andrew] Bolger was recently inducted into the Florida Lacrosse Hall of Fame and is just an amazing figure. My son Brandon is on the team, and I wanted to help in any way possible,” he said.
Weppner said his son also played in the Boca Jets Lacrosse League, and that the experience provided the foundation for his current success.
“I think the program is about five years old and has really come a long way. It started with one overloaded team, but is now a top-level organization,” he said. For more information about the game, call 561-314-2100. For more information about the Boca Jets Lacrosse League, visit www.bocajetslacrosse.com.
