FAU music competition is accepting entries

FAU’s Department of Music in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters is currently accepting applications for the 2009 Michael and Madelyn Savarick Annual Music Competition. The competition is open to all Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties residents between the ages of 13 and 18 in the following categories: one for classical music composition and four categories for classical music performance including piano, voice, strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass or classical guitar) and winds/percussion (woodwinds, brass and concert percussion). Interested musicians must send a recording with their own performance of two selections of classical music, and entries must be postmarked no later than April 5.
