Dukakis back in Boca for Fishing Academy

He ran for president and lived part-time in Delray Beach. Michael Dukakis and his wife Kitty also have family connections here, and they’re coming to the City Fish Market restaurant on May 4 for a benefit to support the Florida Fishing Academy.

Dukakis will give the keynote address at the cocktail reception, which always attracts local politicians and other supporters.

Tickets are $150, and silent auction items will include a private lunch for two with the Dukakises, two airline tickets to anywhere Jet Blue flies, a weekend for two in the Florida Keys, signed fine-art prints by marine conservationist Guy Harvey, spa packages, fishing charters and more. There’s an invitation-only VIP reception before the event.

For tickets, call Rich Brochu at 561-747-7227, email Rich@floridafishingacademy.com or for information on the academy, go to www.floridafishingacademy.com.

The academy was featured in a “Making a Difference” segment on “NBC News with Brian Williams” and has reached more than 4,000 at-risk students in Palm Beach County schools and city-run Youth Empowerment Centers.
