Olivia Cavallo raising money for Pink Ball Saturday

Broward firefighter John Cavallo is proud his daughter Olivia and friends spent the last few weeks bumping up sales for their Kids Think Pink Too charity in advance of the West Boca Youth Baseball League’s third annual Pink Ball. The all-day event will take over the fields at South County Regional Park in West Boca on Saturday, April 21, according to organizer Michelle Stallone.
A Spanish River Christian School cheerleader, Olivia, 12, raised $300 from pink lemonade, bracelet and ribbon sales as of Friday and hoped to raise more at the fundraiser, her Dad said. This isn’t the first year raising funds for breast cancer research, after her best friend’s mother and her mother Brenda’s best friend succumbed to cancer.
Players will don pink T-shirts and wristbands, as well as using pink bats and softballs, to show support of breast cancer awareness. Two teams from the Boca Raton Regional Hospital will be playing in the afternoon, with a dedication to Dr. Maria Valasquez, a radiologist at Boca Regional.
