Water posters winners announced, one statewide

The city announced the three winners out of 700 entries for its annual Water Conservation Poster Contest, awarding $50 gift cards to, from left, Natalie Navarrete at Addison Mizner Elementary School and Scarlett Goldberg and Sofia Firic at the Pine Crest School.
Natalie, a fifth grader, was also a winner in the Florida Section American Water Works Association’s 2012 Drop Saver Poster Contest, which nabbed her another $50, her father Fernando Navarrete said after the winning posters were revealed at the council meeting on April 24. Each winner got to keep her own poster, and Mayor Susan Whelchel made the proper fuss over them.
