Valentines day specials for pets

In preparation for Valentines day, Broward County Animal Care will soon be offering a few different ways for animal lovers to show their support.

Feb. 11: Residents can take their pets to one of the Broward County Animal Care locations to get a family Valentine picture taken for a donation of $8. Those who adopt a pet that day will get the photo for free.

Photos will be available from noon to 2 p.m.

Feb. 14: Residents can adopt a new pet at the annual “Adopt-A-Sweetheart” Pet Adoption event at the Broward County Governmental Center, 115 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale. A variety of dogs and cats will be available for adoption in the lobby from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Broward County's Animal Care and Adoption Center is dedicated to providing shelter for lost and surrendered animals as well as the successful adoption of pets. The agency also coordinates the licensing of dogs and cats and provides rabies vaccinations in order to encourage a healthier pet population.
