If it was Paso Fino horses last year, it is cricket this time.
Two exhibition games of cricket are among the many items on Coral Springs’ WorldFest menu. The event that will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 11 at the Sportsplex is the city’s annual tribute to the multicultural richness of its diverse population.
“The exhibition games will help explain the game to people who want to know more about it," said Joyce Campos, city community relations coordinator. “We will also have the Chinese community with board games that they play. The festival will cover a spectacular array of multi-cultural entertainment, cuisine and culture. There will be live music, arts and crafts, educational activities, and amusements for children; it should be a lot of fun.”
Admission to the festival is free. Campos expects about 5,000 people to tune out. “About 20 to 25 countries will be represented at the festival. This is a very diverse community. Every year, we seem to attract different ethnic groups.”
