Broward educator turned comedian to visit Springs school

“Stand-Up For Kids,” a comedic, interactive show that is entertaining students in South Florida and serving-up messages about life skills, character, self-esteem, loving life and being a star student at the same time, will be at Park Springs Elementary School at 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. on May 9 at Park Springs Elementary. The school is located at 5800 NW 66 Terrace, Coral Springs.

Michael Luongo, known as Mr. L to his school age audiences, is a former teacher turned full-time comedian. He served as a substitute teacher in several Broward County public schools from the late 1980s through the early 2000s. The performances on May 9 will be his final ones of his current school tour.

Luongo has performed in Las Vegas, numerous colleges and universities and comedy clubs. He was the opening act for legendary Motown artist Smokey Robinson. Additional information about Michael Luongo and “Stand-Up For Kids” can be found at stand-upforkids.com.
