NSU library open today

Nova Southeastern University’s Alvin Sherman Library reopened today after closing due to yesterday's water leak.

The library will resume regular hours tomorrow (opening at 7:30 a.m.), but all events scheduled for Aug. 27 and 28 have been canceled.

The leak is believed to have been caused by a sprinkler head which was hit while a meeting room was being set up for an event. The sprinkler head triggered an additional part of the building’s sprinkler system, causing water to flow through the fourth to first floors.

There was no damage to library materials or books, but two conference rooms were affected and are being cleaned.
