Bone marrow drive set in Davie for Sunday

Pembroke Pines resident Henry Osti lost both of his parents to cancer within a 98-day span.

In their honor, he cycled more than 3,800 miles in two months and signed up more than 280 people to be bone marrow donors. His journey was part of his RYDE (Ryde Your Dreams Everyday) movement.

He hopes to enlist 500 people as donors. To help, he has scheduled a bone marrow swabbing event for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 at St David’s Catholic Church, 3900 S. University Drive. The church will raffle off a pair of skates if 100 donors sign up.

He has partnered with the bone marrow registry (at to help raise awareness.
