In the 12 years since Joe Kovac stepped into big Santa boots following the death of Wes Griffin, a Davie police officer, he has continued the tradition of bringing big smiles and good cheer to children.

Kovac will do the same for the 27th annual Davie Kiwanis Holiday Party on Saturday, Dec. 14. The party for underprivileged children has delivered holiday cheer to more than 4,000 children and their parents. The families are treated to lunch cooked up by the Wings of Gold Motorcycle Club, sweet treats and gifts of pre-decorated Christmas trees or a Hanukkah bush plus a bicycle.
