Percy White Library Announces Closures in July

What better time to fix the air conditioning than in the middle of summer?

For those relying on the Deerfield Beach Percy White Branch Library, however, the repairs will mean checking out other Broward County library locations.

On July 4, and again on July 12, the branch at 837 E. Hillsboro Boulevard will be closed. The former marks a national holiday. The latter bows to necessary air conditioner repairs.

In a letter advising Deerfield Beach City Manager Burgess Hanson of the impending closures, Robert Cannon, libraries division director, suggested four alternatives: Century Plaza Branch, 1856A W. Hillsboro Blvd.; Pompano Beach Branch, 1213 E. Atlantic Blvd.; Northwest Branch, 1580 N.W. Third Ave. and North Regional/BCC Library, 100 Coconut Creek Blvd.

Signs will be posted at library entrances notifying customers ahead of time and ,he said, “we anticipate that the library will re-open to the public on Saturday, July 14 at 10 a.m.”
