Happy Valentine's Day from the DOT

Project improvements on Southwest Tenth Street continue this week, and this week's traffic update from the Florida Department of Transporation includes this bit of good news: the north side of Southwest Tenth Street will be closed at the intersection of East Newport Center Drive (which is Southwest 12th Avenue) from 11 a.m. February 14 through 10 a.m. February 19.
During this time, southbound I-95 traffic should exit at Hillsboro Boulevard, go west to East Newport Center Drive and turn south. Northbound I-95 traffic will exit at SW 10th Street, go west to West Newport Center Drive and turn left/south and follow West Newport Center Drive under the 10th Street overpass to travel north.
As the $2 million project continues, shoulder width modifications, video detection system installation, a new guardrail on the bridge, evaluating drainage conditions, evaluating non-functional driveways, new signs, new pavement markings, new ADA ramps and minor landscaping, one lane in each direction will be closed intermittently on Southwest Tenth Street between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
Completion is expected this month.
