Delray Art League's indoor show/sale to open at Crest Theatre

The Delray Art League show's opening reception at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 will showcase a variety of artwork including watercolor, oil, acrylic, and mixed media at the Crest Theatre, 51 N. Swinton Ave.

“Typically the Delray Art League does outdoor shows," said Susan Sabin, spokeswoman for the nonprofit league. "This is an indoor show to kick off our season. Crest Theatre is a beautiful place.”

The league's exhibit will be on display through the end of October, and artwork in the juried show also will be available for sale. Sabin said 10 percent of proceeds from the sale of artwork goes into the league's Art Education Fund, which awards scholarships to local students interested in art, provides art supplies to schools and organizations, and donates money to sponsor local art programs.

The Delray Art League recently gave $5,000 to Old School Square to make up for funds lost to budget cuts.

The league has more than 250 artist members. For information visit www.delrayartleague.org or call David Paige at 561-374-9559.
