Live newscast to be filmed at Delray's Veterans Park

DELRAY BEACH – WPTV - Ch. 5 plans to film its Friday, Sept. 19 newscasts at 5 and 5:30 p.m. live from Veterans Park, 802 NE First St.

Delray Beach residents and visitors can find out what it’s like first hand to produce a live newscast. The free event is part of the station's "On The Road" team that travels to different locales giving their viewers a chance to meet and greet their favorite on-air personalities in a casual setting. Free prizes will also be given out during the broadcast.

According to Sarah Martin, special events/projects manager for the Delray Beach Downtown Marketing Cooperative, the broadcasts will showcase downtown Delray Beach at its best, including on-air interviews with community figures and on-site remotes at some Delray Beach landmarks.

“The public is encouraged to attend; so make sure you stop by to show your support for our All-America City. Who knows...you may even get the chance to be on television yourself!” Martin said.
