Historical marker placed at House of Refuge site

A new historical marker was placed at the intersection of 200 Ocean Blvd. and Bay Street. The marker symbolizes the “Orange Grove House of Refuge” built in 1876 for shipwreck survivors by the U.S Lifesaving Saving Service.
Delray Beach Mayor Rita Ellis, city officials, members of the Delray Beach Historical Society, and area residents attended this free event.
