SAFE to present newsletter on pedestrian safety

Safety As Floridians Expect (SAFE), a local watchdog group with concerns about pedestrian safety, will be presenting its newsletter, "Full Consideration," a response to the Florida Department of Transportation’s revision to "Pedestrian, Bicycle and Public Transit Facilities" of the Plan Preparation Manual at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 at the Mae Volen Senior Center, 1555 W. Palmetto Park Road.
“The FDOT has done a very good job in preparing the draft, which is still a work in progress, but SAFE concluded that what was really needed was a change to the Florida statute,” said SAFE Chairman Jim Smith.
