Delray Beach Bus Loop plans to raise money for several organizations
Organizers have set round three of the Delray Beach Bus Loop, an event in which partygoers board trolleys visiting eight downtown bars downing drinks to benefit five local charities.
The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday with registration at the Delray Beach Public Library, 100 W. Atlantic Ave. Patrons receive a
wristband and then board eight trolleys to the bars until 11 p.m. Then at the Hurricane Bar and Lounge (one of the eight on the bar hit list), the partiers get free pizza to fill their bellies. The list has stops at Kevro's Art Bar, Sail Inn, Park Avenue, Hangar 88, Hurricane Lounge, Bull Bar, Union and Pepe's Hideaway. The trolleys continuously travel along the route throughout the night, allowing attendees to come and go as they please.
“We were amazed at how much community support we received with the previous Bus Loop events and are confident it will continue to grow into a huge event,” said John Haley, Bus Loop creator and organizer.
In all the cost is $20 in advance or $25 the night of the event. Boarding departs from the Delray Beach Public Library back parking lot.
The Delray Beach Bus Loop proceeds benefit Caridad Center, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, Delray Beach Public Library, The Spirit of Giving and Milagro Center. Major sponsors for the event included Elibs.com and Haley Engineering, Inc.
“We are thrilled to be part of such a fun and exciting event that gives back to the community in such a big way,” said Amy Gray, executive director of the Florida Chapter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
