A hot spot in the East Atlantic Avenue restaurant scene opens
Restaurateur Zach Erdem is opening 75 Main Delray, a contemporary American cuisine restaurant with Mediterranean influences and culinary creations.
Located in the address inhabited by Cugini Grill for so many successful years, 75 Main is in the heart of Downtown Delray Beach at 270 E. Atlantic Ave. (between Southeast Second Avenue and Southwest Third Avenue).
Erdem said in a press release he will give 75 Main Delray "a touch of Hamptons sophistication with a definitive dose of South Florida hospitality."
"We look forward to welcoming old friends and making new friends in the community," Erdem said in the release.
According to the press release, chef John Thomas has developed a menu with whole roasted Branzino with extra virgin olive oil and fresh herbs, cioppino, grilled baby lamb chops with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, jumbo lump crab cakes with stone ground mustard sauce, vegetable and seafood risotto, New York Strip Steak, veal chop with sauteed porcini mushrooms and polenta, a Medi platter with house-made hummus, Baba Ganoush, Tzatziki, and toasted pita, tuna and Kobe beef sliders, sandwiches and wraps, and a swell array of salads, including Caprese, Caesar, and chopped veggie (diners can also add grilled salmon, shrimp, or chicken to any salad).
The press release stated that 75 Main will also offer plenty of decadent desserts, including chocolate molten lava cake, Key Lime pie, low-cal Ricotta cheesecake, chocolate mousse, Tarte Tatin, and a sweet selection of sorbet and ice cream.
Erdem is a celebrity favorite. His Hamptons restaurant has had patrons including Alec Baldwin, Madonna, Pierce Brosnan, Leo DiCaprio, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Lopez, Ed Westwick, Mickey Rourke, Jodie Foster, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan from "The Real Housewives of New York," the Kardashian sisters and Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill.
75 Main Delray will also offer a sleek lounge with a sexy vibe, featuring European DJs spinning a blend of house music, from 10:30 p.m. nightly on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
According to the press release, the full bar includes 85 wines, by the bottle, and about 15 wines by the glass, in addition to a cocktail menu. The signature drink is the 75 Maintini, which will change each season, with the spring version featuring Stoli Elite and passion fruit juice.
The ambiance is a 4,600-square-foot restaurant with white walls accented with a collection of original artwork, celebrating the female form, by noted artist Raphael Mazzucco. The bar centers the space and will be the place to be scene on the strip. There is also outdoor seating and patio.
75 Main Delray serves brunch, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and dinner from 4:30 to 11 p.m., daily. Phone 75 Main Delray, at 561-243-7975, for reservations/information go to 75Main.com.
