Hollywood will join E-911 system on Oct. 1

Starting Wednesday, Oct. 1, Hollywood will join the regional consolidated dispatch system. Hollywood residents will have a new phone number to call police or fire for non-emergency situations. Callers will dial 954-764-HELP for any non-emergency police or fire services, including complaints or suspicious activities.

This dispatch system was voted on by Broward residents in 2002. It received funding in 2013.

Hollywood reminds residents that in the event of an emergency, always dial 911. And for general city information, residents should dial 954-967-4357.
