The Hollywood Council of Civic Associations, along with the city’s department of housing and community redevelopment, has put together a series of free seminars to help homeowners who are facing foreclosures or those who have already lost their homes.

Mel Pollak, president of the council, advised attendees to bring all related paperwork with them as counselors from AmeriFirst, Cirrus Employer Housing Solutions and Community Development Outreach will be on hand to offer assistance to those who need it.

“We need to spread the word because it’s a dire situation,” Pollack said.

There are three scheduled seminars:

Thursday, Dec. 4
Fred Lippman Multi-purpose Center
2030 Polk St.
7 to 9 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 6
Hollywood Branch Library
2600 Hollywood Blvd.
1 to 4 p.m.

Monday, Dec. 15
Hollywood Beach Culture and Community Center
1301 S. Ocean Drive
7 to 9 p.m.
