Hallandale Beach registering for Community Police Academy

The Hallandale Police Department is offering a free 10-week Community Police Academy to the general public.

The course includes:
- Riding with a police officer on patrol
- Police community partnerships and citizen corps services
- Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design
- Self-defense techniques
- Uniformed patrol division and arrest procedures
- Gun safety and firing range experience
- SWAT unit
- K-9 unit, special operations, investigative services and internal affairs divisions
- Victim advocacy, crime analysis, crime lab investigations and more
