Small-business workshop set in Hallandale

A small-business workshop is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 30 at the Hallandale Beach Cultural Community Center, 410 SE Third St.

The free event will focus on learning about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and what it can do for you.

Speakers from the U.S. Small Business Administration, Community Bank, Wachovia Bank and SCORE will be available. You can:

• Learn about the ARRA and the assistance it provides to small business via the Small
Business Administration
• Hear first-hand from lenders what you need to obtain a small business loan
• Get on-the-spot counseling from members of SCORE and the SBA
• Learn what additional resources are available to help you sustain your business in tough economic times
