David Broide's Penny Project

Recently, I visited the South Florida Holocaust Documentation and Education Center in Hollywood.

There I met David Broide, who is collecting 6 million pennies in honor of the 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust.

He told me about José Broide, his grandfather who was the sole survivor of his family. He was a resistance leader in the forests of Bransk, Poland, where he saved many lives.

David intends to donate all of the pennies to the center.

To contribute to his project or for more information, call 786-486-7614.

To volunteer or to otherwise assist the Holocaust Center, call 954-929-5690.
