Join the city of Hollywood in celebrating our nation’s 236th birthday on the beach.

This annual event features entertainment throughout the day. From 1 to 5 p.m., children’s fun and games with DJ Chulo will entertain the crowd at Charnow Park, at Garfield Street and the Broadwalk. From 1 to 4 p.m., there will be arts and crafts off Buchanan and New York streets. From 7 to 9 p.m., the Hollywood Beach Theater at Johnson Street will feature a live music performance by Pocket Change, followed by the offshore fireworks display.

Spectators are encouraged to utilize the free shuttle buses located at the two downtown Hollywood garages. The Radius garage is at 250 N. 19th Ave., with the shuttle stop on the northwest corner of Tyler Street and 19th Avenue. The Van Buren garage is at 251 S. 20th Ave.

The free buses will run from 5 to 11 p.m. The last shuttles will leave for the beach at 8 p.m., at which time all eastbound vehicular traffic toward the beach will be shut down.
