Cardboard boat race is Oct. 5 at Hollywood Marina

On Saturday, Oct. 5, the Hollywood Marina, 700 Polk St., will host a Cardboard Boat Race. Teams of three or more are invited to build a cardboard boat, on- or off-site, and compete in the festivities in North Lake.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the marina. Racing begins at 1 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. The event is free and open to the public.
