Community meeting outlines transit changes

Changes are coming to the county and community bus services that run out of the Miramar Town Center.

Proposed changes to Broward County Transit’s 95 Express service were outlined at a community meeting held at the bus stop to attract commuters as they got off their evening bus. BCT’s goal is to improve service within the limitations of its funding restrictions, said Director Timothy Garling.

“We’re trying to make the service better and more convenient,” Garling said. “We’re trying to come up with a route structure and improve the rider experience.”

BCT unveiled 95 Express in 2011, which travels throughout southwest Broward and along Interstate 95 to several destinations in downtown Miami. The proposed changes include a new route that will split its Miami destinations in two.
