PPTOPA kicks off theater season with Mister Roberts

The Pembroke Pines Theater of the Performing Arts is mining the depths of the South Pacific for its next play.

Running now through Aug. 9, the theater at 17195 Sheridan St. is staging the World War II-era naval epic “Mister Roberts” Fridays and Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m.

A former Tony award-winning Broadway smash, this maritime adventure concerns a Lieutenant naval officer who defends his crew against his commanding officer aboard a cargo ship.

Tickets run $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $13 for children, but the theater’s offering discount promotions for WWII veterans and servicemen throughout the play’s run.

For more information, call 954-437-4884, or visit www.pptopa.com.
