Plantation council to discuss renos to Kennedy Center

The Plantation City Council is conducting a workshop on Jan. 25 to discuss possible renovations and spending on the Kennedy Community Center.

As with all workshops, the public is welcome to attend the meeting but will not be allowed to make public comments until the items returns to the council for a vote. The city encourages residents to attend to learn more about the topic and bring friends and neighbors.

The workshop is at Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall council chambers, 400 NW 73rd Ave.

The Kennedy Community Center is located at 5555 Palm Tree Road in Plantation and is connected to the new Plantation Woods children's playground and eight hard-surface tennis courts. The building houses conference rooms and also is host to multiple community events throughout the year. Because of its aging infrastructure, the council has questioned in the past whether it needs to be updated.

Call Sharon Kent, assistant director of Parks and Recreation, at 954-452-2512.
