Historical Society offers walking our of Pompano Beach’s Historic Downtown

To help residents gain a better perspective of what Pompano Beach used to look like, the Pompano Beach Historical Society and the Pompano Beach Green Market is offering a free guided walking tour of Pompano Beach’s historic downtown at 9:30 a.m. March 14.
Two long-time Pompano Beach residents and local historians, Bud Garner and Don Downie, will conduct the tour. During the tour, the pair will discuss the historic structures that remain, as well as the businesses that occupied those buildings and the people who lived and worked in old Pompano.
The walking tour will begin at Pompano Beach Historical Society’s booth at the weekly Pompano Beach Green Market located at the corner of Northeast First Street and Flagler Avenue in Pompano Beach. The tour is free and handicapped accessible.

My history of Pompano Beach is the 60s and the 70s. What memories. I was down there four years ago and marvaled at how much changed, but remains the same. I graduated from the high school in 71,surfed and spent my free time at he pier. Stayed out of trouble that way. Oh the memories! Good luck on the tour(s).

Appreciate the stroll down memory lane. This is good for the younger generation who don't know the area.
You should consider networking with the moms in the bizymoms Pompano-beach community.
