Pompano Beach High chosen as Blue Ribbon School

Pompano Beach High School was just one of the 314 schools around the country that was selected as a 2009 National Blue Ribbon School.

The honor is bestowed on schools that have a strong academic reputation or have made strides in student achievements. Schools are also chosen based on having at least 40 percent of their student body consisting of disadvantaged students that have shown major academic progress and the school must ranked in the top 10 percent academically in their state.
