Ask teachers everything you wanted to know

In today’s fast-paced world, keeping up with a child’s school performance can be challenging, but local teachers say that’s not an excuse for not doing it.

Sunrise teachers want to talk face-to-face with today’s new parents during the city’s third annual Education Network Day on Jan. 31 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event will take place at the Sunrise Civic Center Theater, 10610 W. Oakland Park Blvd. Teachers and school administrators will gather to answer everything parents wanted to know about their children’s education and talk about all the resources available to them.

Some of the topics they’ll discuss include FCAT testing, how to keep children safe, mentoring opportunities, PTA involvement, anti-bullying and the Virtual Counselor program.
