Sunrise to host cyber safety summit

The city of Sunrise will have a Cyber Safety Summit at 6:15 p.m. March 4 at the cafeteria of Sawgrass Elementary School, 12655 NW Eighth St.

The event will feature presentations and information from recognized authorities on Internet safety, including the Attorney General's Child Predator Cyber Crime Unit; the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force; the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children; and School Resource Officers from the City of Sunrise Police Department.

Topics will include the warning signs of cyber-bullying and online predators; and strategies for protecting yourself, your children and your family. Real-world examples and demonstrations will illustrate why you must be informed about Internet dangers.

The summit is sponsored by the school's PTA and is open to everyone in the community. For more information, call 954-322-8501.
