Memorial service set for longtime Royal Palm Beach resident

ROYAL PALM BEACH - A celebration of the life of Florence Betty Nelson of Royal Palm Beach will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Royal Palm Cultural Center, 151 Civic Center Way.

Mrs. Nelson died Aug. 17 from cancer. She was 77.
She lived in Royal Palm Beach for 35 years. And during that time she belonged to many organizations such as the Crestwood Performing Arts League, Hadassah, Wellington Seniors Club and Wellington Theatre Group.
Friends describe her as playful, generous and compassionate.
"If any of us needed Flo she was always there," said close friend Estelle Rubin of Wellington. "There is only one Flo Nelson. We miss her."
The family is asking that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach.
