Wellington teacher who shot intruder arrested on child sex charges

index.cfm.jpegWELLINGTON - A Wellington resident who made headlines for shooting an armed intruder in his home two months ago was arrested Monday by the Palm Beach County School District police and charged with sexual assault/sexual battery on a victim between the ages of 12 and 18 and lewd and lascivious behavior on a victim 12 to 16 years old.

Heath Miller, 34, teaches at Howell L. Watkins Middle School. Miller is accused of having sex on multiple occasions with a 14-year-old girl in the school's band room and inappropriately touching three other girls.

A judge ruled April 21 that Miller will remain in jail without bond.
