Give the gift of Wellington Recreation

Having a hard time figuring out what to give the family this holiday season? Why not think outside the box and give the gift of recreation. New this year Wellington is offering gift certificates that can be used for any of their recreation programs, sport or activities.

Wellington’s Spring 2012 Recreation Guide, which covers programs and special events from January to May 2012, is now available by visiting wellingtonfl.gov, clicking on the Parks and Recreation icon and selecting ‘Flyers and Guides.’ Wellington will be offering a variety of activities for all ages from 4 months to seniors. Activities range from swimming lessons to hip-hop dance classes, soccer, acting, self-defense classes, senior brunch-n-bingo and much more. There will also be Yoga classes and morning and evening Pilates classes.

Participants must register for programs in advance either online by visiting the Parks and Recreation page at wellingtonfl.gov, via fax or by visiting the Wellington Community Center, 12150 Forest Hill Blvd. or Village Park, 11700 Pierson Road.

For specific details and the latest program information, visit wellingtonfl.gov or call Julie Strow, programs coordinator, at 561-753-5262.

About This Blog

Although not a native Floridian, Wellington/Royal Palm Beach Forum reporter Nadia Sorocka has called Florida her home for most of her life. She went to school in Palm Beach County graduating from John I. Leonard High School and Palm Beach State College. After receiving her Associate of Art degree she attended the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Communications in 2004.

Nadia was able to combine her two passions - education and journalism - when she became a staff writer for Forum Publishing Group. Her column, Class Notes, allowed her to voice concerns with the education system as well as highlight positive aspects.

In February 2011 she became the reporter for the Wellington and Royal Palm Forums. She enjoys getting to know the people who call the western communities their home.
