Upgrades ongoing at Country Isles Park

playground.jpg.png

Work on the sidewalks and the pathway are the next phase of work at Country Isles Park in Weston.

Don Decker, Weston's director of parks and recreation, said the park pathway won't be entirely new, but they are making improvements in regards to accessibility to the playground and small gazebo.

It's because of this that access to the park's playground will be obstructed through Feb. 15.

"This work will round out a list of improvements," Decker said. "We started with a new play structure and surfacing at the playground. We then replaced the aged wooden gazebo with a new, all-steel structure. The sidewalk and parking improvements are the final phase of the work at the park."

Weston to get hydrants flushed

Hydrant.jpg

Fire hydrant flushing will be conducted throughout Weston during daytime hours from Jan. 24-March 14.

Flushing is done to increase the quality (color and disinfecting residual) of the water in the distribution system. Homeowners are not likely to notice a difference in water pressure or color.

However, if a dishwasher is running, it may pull some cloudy water into the home. The water is still safe, and running the tap for a few minutes will produce clear water again.
