The Sheinberg Family YMCA of Weston, 20201 Saddle Club Road, is hosting a Healthy Kids Day from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 16.
Families will enjoy aerobic demonstrations, safe start information, drowning prevention and swim safety demonstrations, summer camp open house and registration, child safety seat check, giveaways and more.
Weston City Commissioners will lead a "Blow the Whistle on Childhood Obesity" at noon.

The 2011 Relay For Life of Weston begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at Cypress Bay High School's track, 18600 Vista Park Blvd.
Relay committee members want the community to know a couple things:
- They are signing up cancer survivors to be honored during the grand opening ceremony. Survivors also are invited to take part in the opening survivor’s victory lap and then enjoy a complimentary dinner.
- You don’t have to be a signed-up participant; you can come out and enjoy the activities and cheer on the teams.
You can purchase a luminaria in memory or honor of a loved one, make a donation or get more information by visiting www.relayforlife.org/WestonFL .
Residents can buy a $10 raffle ticket (three for $25) for a chance to win one of two luxury seven-night cruises for two.

Symphony of the Americas' next performance is set for 8 p.m. April 9 at the Cypress Bay Theater, 18600 Vista Park Blvd.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the theater door; advance tickets are available at the Weston Community Center, Community Bank of Broward and Comerica Bank. If available, tickets will be sold at the Cypress Bay box office one hour prior to the show.

The Weston Community Center, 20200 Saddle Club Road, is offering an SAT-College Board exam prep class for ages 15-20.
Instructor Jeff Steinberg developed this course in 1990 and taught it at the University of Miami. Content includes commonly overlooked strategies and techniques for doing well on the SAT.
The dates for the spring classes are 1:30-4 p.m. Sundays (April 10-May 29) and Thursdays 7:15-9:45 p.m. (April 14-June 2) . The sessions are designed for the SAT test on June 4.
Cost is $475, including text and materials. Call Steinberg at 954-478-0792 to enroll in this course.

The community gathered at the Weston 8 Cinema to see “The Little Traitor” and raise funds and awareness for American Friends of Magen David Adom.
The organization benefits Magen David Adom, Israel's national emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service.

The Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center and Spa in Weston and Hands On Educational Services recently hosted a graduation ceremony for three residents with special needs.
Paul Ramirez, Donnell McClam and Gustavo Noguera are the newest graduates from the hotel’s Hospitality Training Program for Persons with Disabilities.
They are the second group of students to complete the training program, which allows those with special needs to work as temporary Hyatt Regency Bonaventure employees in several departments.

The Weston Branch Library, 4205 Bonaventure Blvd., is exhibiting paintings by artist Rolande Moorhead this month.
Moorhead works in oil, acrylic and watercolor and is president of the 2+3 Artists Organization. She also teaches art at the Weston Community Center.
The paintings on exhibit reflect the state's heritage, to coincide with Florida Heritage Month.

Camp Sagemont, 1570 Sagemont Way in Weston, will host a Camp Reunion and Open House from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 27.
Camp Sagemont is in its 14th season and offers a number of programs for various age groups.

The Weston Tennis Center Spring Camp, for ages 5-15, will run March 14-18.
Instruction will be suited to the specific skill level of each camper and will include match play and team competition.
Full-day camp runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and half-day is from 9 a.m.-noon. Full-day campers must bring their own lunch. Friday is the exception because it will be Pizza Day.

More than 500 people are expected to walk, run and volunteer at the MS Walk, 5K Run and Kids Fun Run Sunday, April 3 from Markham Park, 16001 W. State Road 84 in Sunrise.
The event helps raise awareness and funds to support research, programs and services for 6,000 people living with MS in South Florida.
Registration for the 5K run begins at 5:30 a.m., with a 7 a.m. start time, and the quarter-mile Kids Fun Run begins at 8:15 a.m. Registration for the walk begins at 7:30 a.m. with the walk kicking off at 9 a.m.
There will be snack-filled rest stops, live entertainment and other activities.
