Broward League of Cities accepting applications for scholarship


The Broward League of Cities is accepting applications for its Scholarship for Government Studies.

Four students will be selected for a $1,000 scholarship. Applications are due by Feb. 15. To be considered, applicants must be available on the date scheduled for interviews, set for March 30.

Scholarships are open to seniors who are residents of Broward County, attend a Broward public high school or charter school and plan to attend a college or university to pursue a major in public administration, political science or other government-related field.

Applicants must demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills. The application must include an essay, a personal statement, two letters of recommendation and a transcript. Detailed instructions can be found at
