Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School blessed its newly refurbished track, as the Maverick track team took its first lap.
The original track was created 11 years ago when the Southwest Ranches school was built.
“The time frame to renovate the track was approximately three weeks,” said Anthony Massaro, McCarthy’s athletic director. “Our track is quite unique. There aren't many royal blue tracks, only a handful throughout the nation.
The track will host its Big Blue Invitational on March 3.
