Billy Joel, Elton John tour to last "at least two years"

Elton John and Billy JoelBilly Joel and Elton John's upcoming tour will last "at least two years and go all over the world," John announced this morning on "The View."

Joel confirmed the tour late last month at a benefit for Charity Begins at Home, but didn't release specific dates. John said yesterday that the tour would begin in March.

"It’s something I’ve looked forward to for a long time," John said. "We haven’t done it in a while. I love touring with him. I have the greatest respect for him. We’re both such good friends. It’s two people for the price of one. Our ticket prices are the same as you’d see anyone else, but there’s two of us. In this day and age, we hope to be getting people value for their money."

As part of the warm-up for the tour, Joel has set up some solo dates -- at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Fla., in January, and a Valentine's Day show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Tickets for those shows are now on sale through Ticketmaster. Joel, who says he has been practicing John's songs again to get ready for the tour, is currently in the middle of his tour of Asia and Australia, set for Hong Kong tomorrow night.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN TICKETS GO ON SALE FOR THE ELTON JOHN & BILLY JOEL TOUR! I just saw Elton John at Cesar's Palace last Saturday night. It was the thrill of my life to be able to go up on stage with him as he sang "Saturday Night." This is the second year in a row that my husband and I have seen Sir Elton's Red Piano Concert for our second wedding anniversary and his 55th birthday. We will definitely be in Las Vegas next year to see it again. He is a great performer! I also saw the Elton John and Billy Joel Concert seven years ago--what a concert! As a pianist myself, these two individuals are two of the most talented musicians of our times; and I CAN'T WAIT to see them perform again!

And, remember, Long Island is home to the only radio show in the entire world devoted to the music of Native Son Billy Joel. "Piano Man" is heard 100% commercial-free every Sunday afternoon from 2PM to 3PM on LI's 90.3FM.

P.S. We'd love to have Glenn as a guest someday.

Ok the last time I saw these guys was a few years back. Who would have thought getting Billy Joel and Elton John tickets would be a hassle, well it was. The show sold out like in 2 minutes and the only seats I had a chance on grabbing were like single seats all the way up on top. I looked around and was eventually able to score some tickets online but I did end up paying like three times the face value…. I wonder who gets all these tickets in the first 2 minutes.. Anyways. Can't wait to try again, I want to get tickets for the Honda Center show on March 28th or March 20th
