WAIT FOR ME

finale.jpg

First of all, I apologize for not writing a blog last week. I know many of you feel incomplete when you watch an episode of Grey's and don't have my latest entry to follow it up with. I contemplated writing one, but it's difficult to submerge yourself in the happenings of Seattle Grace the night before your wedding. So, I apologize and hopefully I can fill the void in your lives through this entry. haha.

I'll start with the biggie. "Wait for Me." This line HAS to be the kiss of death. Meredith outlines the perimeter of the Shepherd house in candles and Derek follows up the gesture with a "Wait for Me". I'm sure her shrink would say something about the Chief speaking the same words to Meredith's mom. I am sure the parts of her that were fixed, will now be broken again. For a moment, I thought Meredith and Derek would live happily ever after, cure cancer and reside on a mountain top overlooking God's creation...and then he said "Wait for Me". There are several things I was wondering during this scene. 1. Was Derek going to call Rose? It seemed pretty early in the morning. I would hate to start my day with a break up. Even if he did it in person, that's the last thing you want over your first cup of coffee. 2. Although it was really cute and a huge step for Meredith, I really dont see how she could have pulled off the whole candle thing...I mean, really unrealistic in my book. But, whatever its the finale.

On to the girls. I decided to stop fighting the Callie/Erica thing. I'm still not really in to it. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that Erica is really not my favorite person. Therefore, I could watch any other storyline than her hooking up with Callie - who I have come to love. But, whatever they're lovers now. Yeah girls!

So, Ava Rebecca has a borderline personality disorder...what a novel idea. She's crazy, they confirmed it...now she can go back to the looney bin and Alex and Izzie can get closer. yeah! Does it seem that we end each finale with Alex and Izzie having a moment? It seems as though each season, one of them is saving the other. Alex came to Izzie's side when Denny died and now Izzie is Alex's shoulder to cry on. I am sooooo rooting for them.

Our boy George. Just when I was loving George again...he goes and kisses Lexi Grey. Seriously? He kisses her, she touches her lips in a "oh my George kissed me" way and here starts a new unrealistic relationship for George O'Malley. Sure, I want him to find someone. But I was just starting to appreciate his quirky relationship with Lexi. She's kind of a brunette version of Izzie. Neurotic, bubbly, insanely nosy...perfect for George's best friend. All we need now is for Christina and George to hook up in the on-call room and he's got the whole hospital covered. He may give Dr. Sloan a run for his money.

On to Bailey. If I could keep her in my pocket and take her out when I am having a bad day..I would. Her speeches are unbelievably moving. I tear up each time. She could make me run a marathon, which in my world would never happen. She is phenomenal.

Observations....
Did anyone else think the tumor patient sex scene with Derek as the look out was really weird? I mean, the idea is cute and all, but he was standing guard while two teenagers had sex. Baffles me what they allow to happen in that hospital.

Christina getting her mojo back is one of the best things to happen in a long time. Dark and dreary Christina has her moments, but crazy sparkle pager Christina is so much more entertaining to watch.

But alas, here we are at the end of another season. It's been a short and rocky one. It's been much brighter than last season and a few more characters have made their mark on SG. As we head into the summer months, there are only a few questions we are left with....Will Derek and Meredith build their dream house? Or will Meredith punk out again? Will George pass his exam this time around and reunite as with his buddy residents? Will George have a better sexual experience with a different Grey? Will Callie and Erica be the new hot item? Or will Alex and Izzie? Hopefully, I will have DVR before these questions are answered.

Happy Summer!

Don't Judge Me Bailey

mere%20and%20der.jpg

Tonight's episode...well, it was for me...uninspired. I've often referred to episodes as fillers and tonight was a filler. I'm okay with that though. They can't all be Emmy winners.

Anyway, I'll start with Mere and Der. I wonder if when casting for these roles, Shonda Rhimes said "I need two people with hopelessly dreamy puppy dog blue eyes." If so, she got what she was looking for. Meredith and Derek seem to be speaking two languages. One is spoken by other humans and one is just between them two. Derek could be saying aloud "Dr. Grey we need to inject the virus simultaneously. We need to be completely in sync." Yet his eyes are saying "I can't believe I let you go. I can't believe I didn't fight harder. I can't believe I'm dating a nurse." I wish Derek would just pull a Notebook move, build a house by hand and put a picture in the Seattle Times newspaper where Meredith would see it and coming running back to him. Impossible? I know...Derek could never build a house and Meredith would never be impressed by that.

Christina's rant: I was wondering when she would have another true Burke breakdown. I like how the writers have continued her storyline. Most shows would have written off Burke and not revisited his character. But they continued to show Christina's anguish. I appreciate that. But, now its time to get Christina a new man. Is Pacey not still available? Maybe we could bring in Mark Paul Gosselar, who I think now only goes by Mark Gosselar. What's he doing these days? He's very attractive in his older age. He looked good as a cop on NYPD Blue, I am sure he would look good in scrubs. PS Isiah Washington was at the last Hornets game. Random. No one knew who he was.

Girl Love: So, I'm starting to think Callie is really into the idea of becoming a lesbian. Granted, she's nervous and is overcompensating by pouncing on Sloan all day. BUT, for a moment when Callie thought Hahn was just being a friend...I think she was sad. Let's be honest, Callie being a lesbian isn't that far of a stretch. I mean, George is pretty girly.

Speaking of George, when he's not having inter-hospital relations with women completely out of his league, he is pretty enjoyable. I would much rather watch a hour of George being the brown nosing Sex Police than watching him fondle Izzie. I actually forgot for a while how funny he is. And his sidekick Lexi is pretty great too. She's basically a girl version of George. Insecure, mousey, small, pale, foot in the mouth intern but every once in a while saves the day.

Izzie/Alex: I would have bet money on Izzie spilling the beans to Alex. I honestly didn't think it was possible for her to hold back telling him the Ava Rebecca is not with child. I wanted her to tell him and then run into his arms and say "we belong together Alex. I can't believe I ever thought George was attractive. You made TV Guide's sexiest men list...and I see that now." Maybe I should write this show.

Finally, Bailey's "Close your knees" speech was classic. Typical Bailey. Love it. However, is it really possible that Sloan had relations with most of the nursing staff? And if so, how in the world did he remember all of their names or have a form long enough? Maybe he posted a sign up sheet in the break lounge.

What are your thoughts on Meredith and Derek? Do you think they need to get over it and move on? Or are they really meant to be?

I DON'T SPEAK GIRL

girls.jpg

Thank God for abc.com

I did not watch Grey's last night in it's original time period...therefore I was forced to watch it online. Which, if you have not done yet, is quite easy and enjoyable.

Anyway, on to the show. I think Shonda Rhimes read my blog last week because there was a shift in this episode. There were tears, yes. There was drama, yes. But the overall theme of the evening was humor. Here are a few of my favorite lines:

"I spent the night with a search engine" - Izzie trying to get invited to an intern dart tournament

"Six dates, heavy petting, lots of tongue" - Rose greeting Addison for the first time as Derek's new girlfriend

"Come here you" - A black haired awkward Addison giving Meredith a "you stole my husband, but I'm zen so its ok" hug

Callie: Does anyone ever think you two are a couple?

Meredith: No because we screw boys like whores on tequila...

Christina: and then we marry them or drown ourselves.

This is a classic Grey's moment. They have over the top drama at the end of a season and then spend all next season making fun of it. I LOVE IT.

Ok, on to the more serious issues. The idea of Callie and Hahn becoming a couple makes me nauseous...this might be worse than George and Izzie. I've questioned Hahn's sexuality all along. But Callie? Is it really possible that all of a sudden she is attracted to women? Does that really happen overnight? Somebody tell me because I apparently don't know. It's obvious Hahn is into Callie. And its obvious Callie is thinking she could be attracted to Hahn. Otherwise, she wouldn't have a nervous laugh and wouldn't defend her love for "penis" to Addison. I'm interested to see where this goes, but I am not looking forward to an inter-hospital hookup between these two.

Next, are we all thinking that Ava Rebecca is straight up lying to Alex? Is she testing his commitment to her or does she really think she's pregnant? Will Izzie break the news to Alex or confront Ava Rebecca about it? In true Izzie fashion, I am sure she will pull a "if you don't tell him, I will". Maybe that will bring Izzie and Alex back together again and Ava will be out of the picture for good. One can only hope.

Addison: I didnt realize how much I liked her on Private Practice until she came back to Grey's. Obviously, she's not coming back to Seattle and never intended on it. The men aren't interested in her. The women have new friends. And basically, she doesn't fit in anymore. Not to sound harsh or anything, I just think LA suits her better.

Anyways, between the tumor patient, the HIV patient and the baby with his heart outside of his chest...there was plenty to cry about. However, Christina trying to talk girl, the interns dis-inviting Izzie to their party and Derek in the elevator with his ex-wife, his ex-girlfriend and his new doe-eyed nurse lover....this episode ranks pretty high for me.
