COUNTDOWN TO 2008 WITH CAT DEELEY

CatDeeley.bmp
Join the celebration live from New York City’s Times Square as Cat Deeley counts down to 2008 on NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE airing Monday, Dec. 31 (11:00 PM) on FOX43.

Deeley, reprising her role as host, will take a look back at the year’s most memorable moments in pop culture and introduce live performances by some of the year’s hottest musical artists. During the broadcast, TALKSHOW host Spike Feresten will report from the heart of Times Square to conduct his signature “man-on-the-street” interviews with partygoers. As 2007 comes to a close, Deeley and Feresten will bring in the New Year as the world-famous New Year’s Eve ball makes its descent into Times Square.

Musical guests and additional artists scheduled to appear to be announced.

Executive producing for the third year in a row, Phil Gurin (“The Singing Bee,” “Miss Universe,” “Miss USA,” “Weakest Link,” “Test the Nation”) said: “We are pleased to have the talented and gorgeous Cat Deeley return as the host of our NEW YEAR'S EVE LIVE celebration. In addition to fantastic live performances by some great musicians, we're also going to have a hilarious correspondent in Spike Feresten who will offer his insight and reports from the best spot in Times Square to catch all of the action.”

Birmingham, England, native Cat Deeley is also one of the foremost television presenters in the UK and has recently become one of the hottest new faces on American TV following her two hugely successful seasons hosting SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Deeley was Jay Leno’s first regular entertainment correspondent on “The Tonight Show” and is now performing the same duty for “Good Morning America.” Deeley is a double BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Award winner and has won many other awards for her work on some of the UK’s hottest primetime shows, including “Stars in Their Eyes,” “CD:UK Live” (on which she appeared weekly for six years), “SMTV: Live” (which she hosted for three years), “Comic Relief Does Fame Academy,” the “V Festival” (2004, 2005), “The Brits,” “Record of the Year,” “Elton John Live from New York,” “The Latin Grammy Awards” and a one-hour special with U2, “When Cat Met U2,” for ITV. Deeley often lends her time to the Great Ormond Street Hospital, a children’s hospital in London, and divides her time between her homes in London and Beverly Hills.

Spike Feresten, host of TALKSHOW WITH SPIKE FERESTEN was raised in West Bridgewater, MA. TALKSHOW is a fast-paced half-hour that combines elements of a talk show with a studio audience and sit-down guests and adds to those elements with irreverent comedy sketches – both inside the studio and out on the street. TALKSHOW offers a fresh approach to the conventional late-night format. The series dispenses with the traditional monologue, features comedy in every act and uses guests in unpredictable ways.

WHO WILL DR. HOUSE CHOOSE TO JOIN HIS TEAM?

By the end of six weeks, one of you will be gone. As will twenty-eight more of you. Wear a cup. - Dr. Gregory House

HouseTeam.bmp
More than 30 doctors applied for the coveted fellowship positions with the irascible but brilliant Dr. House (Hugh Laurie), but only four remain in the competition with ever-changing rules and House pulling all the strings. Who will House choose to be part of his diagnostic team at Princeton-Plainsboro and who will be discharged – leaving the hospital disappointed and empty-handed?

A quick recap of the remaining candidates:

house2007PremEPK_penn_thumb.jpg Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn) – His specialty is rehabilitative and sports medicine. He is the most enthusiastic of all the potential fellows, but his enthusiasm could be dangerous. A radical thinker, he is the only one who doesn’t think House’s crazy moves aren’t crazy enough.

house2007PremEPK_jacobson_thumb.jpg Chris Taub (Peter Jacobson) – His specialty is plastic surgery. He is both shallow and inciteful. Taub left a successful practice for unknown reasons, which only made House more determined to figure out why.

house2007PremEPK_wilde_thumb.jpgThirteen (Olivia Wilde) – Her specialty is internal medicine. She’s a competent young doctor who plays her cards extremely close to the vest. She is an enigma wrapped in a riddle – and House loves a good mystery.

house2007PremEPK_dudek_thumb.jpgAmber Volakis (Anne Dudek) – Her specialty is interventional radiology. An aggressive competitor, she’s not afraid to “finesse” a situation when necessary, which doesn’t endear her to the other fellows.

The eight-episode story arc comes to its shocking conclusion on Tuesday, Nov. 27 (9:00 PM) on FOX43.

HOUSE ranks as FOX’s No. 1 program across the majority of key demos, including Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Total Viewers; ranks as the No. 2 regular primetime program among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens; ranks No. 1 in its Tuesday 9:00 PM time period among all key demos; is the season’s only Top 5 returning drama to post year-to-year gains among Adults 18-49 (up 20% versus last year’s comparable telecasts); and is the only program to rank among the season’s Top 5 primetime programs across Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.

Emmy Award-winning HOUSE is from Heel and Toe Films, Shore Z Productions and Bad Hat Harry Productions in association with Universal Media Studios. Katie Jacobs, David Shore, Paul Attanasio, Bryan Singer, Russel Friend, Garrett Lerner and Thomas L. Moran are executive producers.

FOX announces programming plans during WGA strike.

In light of the announced WGA strike, FOX will implement an alternate plan for the 2007-08 season.

At this time there is only one lineup change for November/December 2007 – PRISON BREAK will come off the schedule effective November 19 and HOUSE encores will go in that time period. Otherwise, there will be a few more encore episodes of our scripted series in November and December, but you can still look forward to holiday-themed programming, the fall finale K-VILLE (12/17), the conclusion of THE NEXT GREAT AMERICAN BAND (12/21) and the rest of the regular lineup!

(NOTE: At this time FOX still has holiday-themed episodes scheduled as previously announced, except for BACK TO YOU and ‘TIL DEATH; and BONES, HOUSE and MADTV’s holiday episodes will be encores from past seasons.)

Beginning in January, there will be a few changes to the previously announced plans. PRISON BREAK, AMERICAN IDOL, ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER, DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS, COPS, AMERICA’S MOST WANTED and our Sunday night animated comedies will continue with original episodes, and we will also schedule a mix of original and encore episodes of HOUSE, BONES, ‘TIL DEATH and BACK TO YOU. However, at this time, 24 will be postponed until we can ensure that the full season can air with few or no preemptions.

Fortunately FOX has several midseason shows waiting in the wings and will premiere TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES and THE MOMENT OF TRUTH in January. NEW AMSTERDAM will join the lineup in February, WHEN WOMEN RULE THE WORLD (working title), THE RETURN OF JEZEBEL JAMES, CANTERBURY’S LAW and UNHITCHED launch in March and the new season of HELL’S KITCHEN will be served up in April!

And, an original episode of HOUSE with guest star Mira Sorvino is still scheduled to air after the Superbowl on February 3!
