FOX Announces Changes to Summer Movie Line-Up
FOX will change a few of the scheduled Friday night movies this summer, adding the original action movie XXX: STATE OF THE UNION and encores of the comedy hits DADDY DAY CARE and THE ANIMAL! Please also note that a few titles have moved to different dates in July to keep the action movies running on subsequent weeks.
On FRIDAY, JUNE 27, 2008, from 8:00-10:00pm (ET/PT), FOX presents the WORLD BROADCAST PREMIERE of XXX: STATE OF THE UNION. In this action-packed sequel to the box-office smash XXX, ICE CUE stars as Darius Stone, a thrill-seeking troublemaker whose criminal record and extreme sports obsession make him the perfect candidate to be the newest XXX agent. He must save the U.S. government from a deadly conspiracy led by five-star general George Deckert (DAFOE). Only a renegate XXX agent like Stone has the Xtreme skills to stop Deckert’s dangerous miliatry splinter group from taking over the government in America’s capital. (NOTE: The movie THE FORGOTTEN, previously announced for this night, is no longer scheduled to air.)
On FRIDAY, JULY 11, 2008, from 8:00-10:00pm (ET/PT), FOX presents an encore of the action movie 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS. The action is faster and more sizzling than ever in this sequel to THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, PAUL WALKER is back as undercover police officer Brian O’Connor, who has been stripped of his badge and is now street racing in Miami for cash. Offered a chance to redeem himself and avoid criminal charges, he must now go undercover again to bring down a drug lord (HAUSER) with the help of his old racing buddy Roman (actor/R&B singer TYRESE) – together they’re 2 FAST, 2 FURIOUS! (NOTE: The movie HELLBOY, previously announced for this night, is no longer scheduled to air.)
On FRIDAY, JULY 18, 2008, from 8:00-10:00pm (ET/PT), FOX presents an encore of HOLLYWOOD HOMICIDE. In Hollywood, no one is who they really want to be. Veteran police detective Joe Gavilan (FORD) and his rookie partner K.C. Calden (HARTNETT) are no exception. Between Joe’s struggling real estate business and K.C.’s fledgling acting career and yoga instruction, they’ve to a major murder case to solve. With both Internal Affairs and their main suspect on their tails, Joe and K.C. have to infiltrate the dangerous world of the hip-hop recording industry. Juggling two careers proves to be a comical adventure, with Joe and K.C. desperate to stay alive long enough to catch their big break! On FRIDAY, JULY 25, 2008, from 8:00-10:00pm (ET/PT), FOX presents an encore of the movie DADDY DAY CARE. After failing to excite the public about vegetable cereal, Charlie (MURPHY) and PHIL (GARLIN) are fired from their high-profile advertising jobs. That means no more expensive day care for their sons at the exclusive Chapman Academy, run by the harsh taskmistress Gwyneth Harridan (HUSTON). Unable to find new jobs, the stay-at-home dads have an idea: start their own day care center. After all, if they can handle taking care of two kids, how much harder could it be to supervise 10? As things turn out, much harder than they ever imagined – especially when Miss Harridan finds out about the success of Daddy Day Care and plots to run them out of business. On FRIDAY, AUGUST 1, 2008, from 8:00-10:00pm (ET/PT), FOX presents an encore of the comedy THE ANIMAL. ROB SCHNEIDER stars as a lowly police station evidence clerk who dreams of being a real cop one day, but can never seem to pass the exam, not to mention the constant hazing from his sergeant (McGinley). After mysteriously surviving a horrible car accident, he suddenly finds he has certain “animal” abilities – heightened senses, amazing running and jumping abilities, and more. Perfect for a police officer – if his animal instincts don’t get him into trouble.
